Alan Stones (Great Britain) is a sound designer and composer of instrumental and electro-acoustic music. He is based in London and teaches at Roehampton University. His music has been widely performed throughout the UK and abroad and draws on a wide range of ideas particularly regarding the structure and nature of real-world and environmental sound. Alan is especially interested in working in collaboration with other art forms and has worked extensively with contemporary dance. He first worked with Allyson Green on a sound score for the duet “Interim,” created with Ben Wright. Recent projects include Odyssey, a collaborative multimedia dance piece for the Krische Wright Company; Shade, a short dance film with Ben Wright; and Transitions Dance Company.
